Who We Are
Brittney Rooney
After getting her hands dirty on farms throughout the US, she has put roots down at Beaverland Farms as lead farmer, managing the day-to-day of the farm.
Brittney enjoys farming because she loves working with plants, seeing them grow, and learning all they have to teach her.
Her favorite farm past times include searching for earth worms and waving at sunflowers.
Kieran Neal
Kieran grew up surrounded by corn fields in rural Northern Indiana. He was inspired by how both sets of his grandparents practiced agriculture and deep appreciation for the natural world.
In his career, Kieran has worked on temperate climate farms of varying scales and continues to research and implement practices from various cultural traditions.
Kieran can build anything (really) and enjoys working by moonlight.
SHELBY DOYLE
Shelby has been with Beaverland Farms for 4 seasons and is our resident farmer-florist. She takes the lead on all things blooming from crop planning to designing.
She enjoys living and working with the seasons and looks to nature for inspiration.
Shelby loves to be covered in dirt and can often be found mesmerized by the depths of color that exist in nature.
kezia champlin
Kezia Champlin is a holistic spirituality guide, psychic reader, and seasonal farmer. She grew up in Suriname, South America and has since lived in Wisconsin, South Carolina, and Michigan (with brief stints in some other beautiful and wonderful places).
Kezia is passionate about nature lore and medicinal uses for plants.
When she's not hanging out with the people she loves, you can find her barefoot in her yard or curled up with a good book.
Gabriella ‘g’ Starke
While you’ll often find G working behind the counter at the farm stand, she also manages events and programming at Beaverland Farms. G grew up in rural Missouri hearing stories about the family farm from her grandparents. After over a decade in corporate America, G is excited to leverage her marketing and event planning experience to bring folks to the farm.
She is passionate about food access in Detroit and spends her free time birdwatching, bowling, and painting.
